Fumiyo is a certified Esalen® Bodywork
practitioner. She was originally qualified as a therapist in Swedish
Massage, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage in 2002. Having discovered
her home away from home, Esalen Institute
in California in 2006, she has rekindled her passion for bodywork as a
gateway to deeper understanding and healing of oneself, as a
practitioner as well as a receiver. Her interest is in bringing more
awareness and harmony in the way of being, and serving the others alike.
Fumiyo's session incorporates Esalen® Bodywork's long,
slow, wave-like Esalen signature strokes, with deep tissue techniques,
and passive stretches - inviting the body to open, unfold, and find the
stillness within. Her intention is to listen and hold a safe space for
that process to organically occur. It is a gentle reminder that there
is another way of being, other than living in contraction. Those
tightness and holdings in the body are given opportunities to be
listened to, and let go - whether it is physical or emotional.
A session can be enjoyed as a more relaxing, yet as effective
alternative to deep tissue massage. For those who are on the path of
self healing and awakening, it can be used as a tool to come back in to
the body and further inwards, knowing that the session is delivered
with an intention of non imposing, non invasive energetic integrity.
